These are locations which have meaning for me, nostalgic, memorable, uplifting, imposing or visually interesting. There are coastal subjects here as well as those based on the built environment.
Some of these paintings can require more formal planning than the watery themes as some of them are composionally complex.
Preliminary drawing can be more of a neccesity in ways that is not so when painting water or the landscape.
I find that once a framework has been assembled there is still scope for spontanaity and intuition to play it's part.
